China is committed to actively promoting the construction of child-friendly cities, and parks and green spaces play a crucial role as an important vehicle for the construction of child-friendly cities. At present, many cities in China have begun to explore and practice the construction of child-friendly parks, aiming to create a safer, educational and fun outdoor environment for children.
China introduces policies related to the construction of child-friendly cities
The Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Child-Friendly Cities, issued by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) in conjunction with 22 departments in 2021, put forward the goal of child-friendly city construction:
By 2025, through the launch of 100 child-friendly city construction pilots nationwide.
Looking ahead to 2035, it is expected that more than 50 % of cities with a population of more than one million will have carried out child-friendly city construction nationwide, and around 100 cities will be named national child-friendly cities.

Shanghai Peace Park
As one of the largest integrated parks in Shanghai's inner ring, Peace Park is an important demonstration node in the construction of Shanghai's child-friendly city.

The Jego team emphasised the thematic nature of the play space while enhancing the quality and functionality of the ride. With the theme of ‘Bunny's Dreamland’, the designers created an immersive play scene to enhance the fun of play. Aiming at the differences in the activities of children of different ages, scientific games and reasonable game zoning are used to create an all-age friendly, open and shared children's playground.
Under the guidance of national policies and the active exploration of cities, China has achieved initial results in the construction of child-friendly parks.
